On February 28th 2009, the Vienna Lions Club hosted the Forty-Seventh Annual James A. Bland Music Scholarship Contest. Studio students earned high honors.
Julia EstradaJulia was selected to perform in the children’s chorus for The Washington National Opera’s 2009 performance of Puccini’s Turandot May 16th - June 4th at the Kennedy Center. (Julia on left WNO backstage.)
Julia was also selected to participate in the internationally acclaimed Interlochen Summer Arts Music Program in Michigan.
Senior Kate Potrykus was awarded a four-year scholarship to Shenandoah University. As this was Kate’s first choice of the universities she was considering, it means that much more.
